Trapeze
Trapeze as a fixed apparatus can be traced back to its first origins from an apparatus called triangle, circa approximately 1816. Additional modifications were made to the material used for the triangle which was two cords or strings connected on each end of a wooden (ash specifically) rod. The strings for the triangle were connected by a hollow ring and hook and could therefore turn. The next configuration used these materials but was fixed on two ropes spaced apart but still in a trapezoid shape.
There are several ways to train and perform with trapeze, to include swinging trapeze and flying trapeze. At Aerial Dragonfly we teach students dance trapeze and static trapeze. They are two fun and interesting ways to engage with this horizontal bar and rope apparatus. Each style allows for beginner level access whether your interest is sparked by movement flow or fitness
